Zapata Snags Central Division Player of the Week Honor

AUSTIN, Minn. – Bruins forward Dante Zapata has been named the NAHL Bauer Hockey Divisional Star of the week for the Central Division.

The third-year forward notched six total points (one goal, five assists) in the Bruins three games this week, including three assists during the home-and-home sweep of the Chippewa Steel. The 20-year-old is having a strong season for the Bruins with three goals and nine assists in 13 games played and is only one goal off of tying his career season-high of four.

Zapata has played for the Bruins since breaking into juniors as a rookie in 2016 and has racked up 12 goals and 38 assists during in his time in Austin.

The Huntington Beach, CA, native and his teammates have won their last four straight and earned points in their last eight and will travel to Minot this weekend for the first two of four straight against the Minotauros. The final pair of that stretch against Minot will be played at Riverside Arena on November 9 and 10 with tickets going on sale Monday, November 5 at all the Bruins ticket partner locations.

Saturday, November 10 is Military Appreciation Night presented by ABC 6 News with the Bruins donning specialty red, white, and blue, jerseys that will be available during the team’s post-game auction.
