Wings Blank Bruins in Series Opener

Dec 3, 2021

AUSTIN, MN –  In their first trip to Riverside Arena this season, the Aberdeen Wings come away with a 3-0 shutout over the Bruins.

Things were evenly matched in the 1st period of action as after 20 mins of play, the score would end the same way it started at 0-0. That would change in the 2nd period, however, as David Grosek would sneak the puck past Klayton Knapp at 12:19 of the period to give Aberdeen a 1-0 lead after two periods of play. Grosek’s goal would prove the be the eventual game-winner.

Aberdeen would add to more goals in the 3rd period as Kyle Gaffney would get his 3rd of the season and Cade Neilson would collect this 12th on an empty netter to seal a 3-0 win for the Wings. Bruins goalie, Klayton Knapp would stop 32 of the 34 shots he would face.

Both teams are back at it again tomorrow night inside Riverside Arena with puck drop set for 7:05 PM. Tickets for Saturday’s game are still available by heading to Austin Hy-Vee, Games People Play, or AustinBruins.com
