Team Black Tops Team Gold in 2019-20 Austin Bruins All-Star Game

Jul 19, 2019

AUSTIN, Minn. – The 10th Anniversary season of Austin Bruins hockey began in the summer with the team’s annual All-Star Game. Forty remaining players from the Bruins four-day long Main Camp suited up and competed in a fast-paced, full-fledged game looking to make the team’s final roster. Team Black outlasted Team Gold, 6-4, in front of a sizable Riverside Arena crowd.

Team Black scored first in the game’s opening minute and never looked back. Despite giving up the early goal, team gold managed to tie the game on three separate occasions but could never find the muster to take the edge.

Some highlights from the game included returning Bruins Jed Pietila and Dante Sheriff each with three points for Team Black, while Matt DeRosa tallied two-goals for Team Gold. Other Bruins notables with points include Carson Riddle (1A) and Ben Almquist (1A) for Team Gold, while Hugh Larkin (1G, 1A) got on the stat sheet for Team Black.

Head Coach Steve Howard and his staff will take everything they’ve seen over the last four days and trim their roster down from 40 to around 25 for the start of preseason.

Season Tickets are now available for the upcoming 2019-20 10th Anniversary year with packages starting at just 225 for adults and 200 for students/seniors. Call the Bruins front office at 507-434-4978 to be apart of the memorable hockey year.
