AUSTIN, Minn. – Bruins forward Dante Sheriff has been named the NAHL Bauer Central Division Star of the Week after a five-point weekend.

Sheriff, who currently is tied for seventh in the NAHL in scoring with 64 points, registered a goal and four assists in the Bruins weekend split with the Brookings Blizzard. Sheriff’s four-point night on Friday night helped Austin clinch a spot in the Robertson Cup Playoffs for the second straight season.

The Toronto, Ontario, native, is currently riding a seven-game point streak where he’s amassed five goals and 10 assists. Sheriff is the fourth Bruin to be named NAHL Bauer Central Division Star of the Week following Dante Zapata, Jared Christy, and Jed Pietila.

With the Bruins having already clinched a playoff spot, their remaining games will be all about final seeding for the post-season. Austin has their next five games on the road, starting this weekend in Bismarck with back-to-back battles against the Bobcats.

The Bruins return home to Riverside Arena on April 5 and April 6 to wrap up the regular season. Tickets for the final games of the season go on sale Monday, April 1 at all the Bruins vendors including Games People Play, Hy-Vee, Holiday Inn, and Jim’s Marketplace.
