Sheriff Nets Third Consecutive NAHL Bauer Central Division First Star of the Week Honor

Jan 13, 2020

AUSTIN, Minn. – For the third consecutive week, Dante Sheriff has been named the NAHL Bauer Central Division First Star of the Week.

Sheriff led the way for the Bruins, who completed a three-game sweep of the St. Cloud Blizzard, with nine points on the weekend. In addition, Sheriff pulled into a tie for the league lead in points with 45.

“Dante had another big weekend for us. He’s a special player and he can do amazing things. We need him and his teammates to continue playing well going forward,” said Bruins Head Coach Steve Howard.

It’s no coincidence that as Sheriff has gotten hot, so has the team. Austin has won their last six straight games and earned points in ten straight, an effort that’s launched them into second place in the NAHL Central Division. Along with Sheriff, the Bruins have had two other NAHL Bauer Central Division First Stars of the Week this season including Ben Almquist and Connor Mylymok.

Up next for the Bruins, they host the Minot Minotauros for a pair of games this weekend and look to extend their win streak.

Friday, January 17 is another $10 Night where fans can enjoy $10 tickets, $10 beer buckets, and more! On Saturday, January 18, the Bruins join in on the statewide celebration of Hockey Day in Minnesota. All youth hockey players will receive FREE admission simply by wearing their uniform. Tickets for this weekends games against the Minotauros are on sale now at any of the Bruins vendors including Games People Play, Hy-Vee, Holiday Inn, and Jim’s Marketplace.
