Robertson’s Second Straight Shutout Leads Bruins to Sixth Straight Win

Nov 23, 2022

ST. CLOUD, MN – The hot streak continues for the Bruins as Ethan Robertson and company left St. Cloud with a 3-0 win.

It’s been two months since the Bruins and Norsemen last met, that being a 1-0 shootout winner for St. Cloud back on September 24th at Riverside Arena. Since then, the Bruins have been one of the hottest teams in the North American Hockey League as they looked to continue that trend Wednesday night. The first twenty minutes would be scoreless as both Robertson and Ethan Dahlmeir would come up with some big saves during the period.

It wouldn’t take long into the second period for the Bruins to find themselves up 1-0. Walter Zacher would score his team-leading 10th goal of the season on a Chad Thomas Thrivent Financial Power Play. Matt Desiderio and Jack Malinski would each pick up an assist on the lone goal in the period. St. Cloud would have multiple point-blank bids denied by Robertson as the ’02 birthyear from Courtice, Ontario, Canada would keep his team on top after forty minutes of action.

Gavin Morrissey would score a highlight reel goal at the 7:36 mark of the 3rd period as the Rochester Hills, Michigan forward would dance past multiple Norsemen on his way to picking up his 3rd goal of the season. A little over halfway through the period, Robertson would continue his scoreless streak as he would stand tall on the other side, at one point without his stick for over two minutes to keep the 2-0 lead in tack for the Bruins. Moments later, Parker Anderson would spring Walter Zacher on a breakaway as Zacher would connect with Dylan Cook for a back door tap-in to give the Bruins a 3-0 lead and that score would hold. Ethan Robertson would pick up his second straight shutout and extend his scoreless streak to 135:46.

Up next, the Bruins welcome the North Iowa Bulls back to Riverside for a Black Friday match-up and then will head to Mason City on Saturday to wrap up the weekend series.
