Robertson’s 16-Save Shutout Leads Bruins to 5th Straight Win

Nov 17, 2022

AUSTIN, MN – The wins keep on coming for the Bruins as they shut out the North Iowa Bulls Thursday night at Riverside Arena.

Coming into the night, the Bruins have won seven of their last eight games and four straight. They looked to continue their winning ways as they matched up with the North Iowa Bulls for the first time since October 1st, which was a 5-4 shoot-out loss down in Mason City. Right away, the Bruins would take the early lead and never let off the gas. Giuseppe Fiorillo would get his first career NAHL goal just two minutes and thirty-two seconds into the 1st period, as his shot would sneak past Bulls net-minder Mitch Day. Ethan Robertson would see many shots in the period, but the ones he would make would be solid to keep the lead to 1-0 after the first twenty minutes.

Since his return to the line-up, Bruins Captian Jack Malinski has been a point-per-game player and continued that trend as his shot from the farside point would get past Day to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead, 4:36 into the 2nd period. Austin Salani would add to the lead with his 7th goal of the year that was tipped in off the initial shot from Walter Zacher to make it a 3-0 lead for the Bruins and the rest was history. Robertson would shut the door and stop all sixteen shots he would face to pick up his 7th win of the season.

The Bruins are off this weekend but return to action next Wednesday night in St. Cloud against the Norsemen. Puck from is set for 7:05 PM CST inside the Municipal Athletic Center.
