Riddle’s Milestone Night Capped Off With Weekend Sweep of Minot

Jan 8, 2022

AUSTIN, MN – On a night where Carson Riddle became the All-Time Regular Season Games played leader, the Bruins would complete the weekend sweep of the Minotauros in a 1-0 victory.

For Carson Riddle, a 4 year veteran for the Bruins, fifty-two seconds into the 1st period would be a moment the Holly, Michigan native would never forget. At that time, Riddle would take the ice to officially appear in his 178th career Regular Season game for the Bruins and became the team’s All-Time Regular Season Games Played Leader! A record that was previously held by Evan Cholak, who appeared in 177 regular-season games for the Bruins from 2015-2018.

The Bruins and Minotauros would meet for the 10th time this season and the final time at Riverside Arena for the regular season on Saturday Night with 1st place of the Central Division on the Line. While the score would remain scoreless after the first 2 periods of play, there were multiple chances for the Bruins as well as Minot but both the play of Klayton Knapp and Carter Clafton would go under the radar as both goalies would make some key stops on both ends of the ice.

The lone goal for the Bruins would come off the stick of Sutter Muzzatti, fifty-five seconds into the 3rd period as he found a back door feed from Walter Zacher to sneak the puck past Clafton. That would be the only blemish on the scorecard for Clafton, and would prove to be the game-winner for the Bruins. Klayton Knapp would complete a 21 save shut-out to help lead the Bruins to a weekend sweep of the Minotauros. Knapp would stop 49 of the 50 shots he would face over the weekend.

With the win, the Bruins retake the lone lead of the Central Division and are back in action next weekend in a home-and-home series vs. the St. Cloud Norsemen.
