Jan 15, 2016

AUSTIN, MN – Jade Miller came into Friday night's game against the Blizzard with 15 goals on the season. He came out with 19. Miller scored four of the Bruins' 7 goals in a 7-0 rout of Brookings at Riverside Arena. Evan Cholak added a pair of goals and two assists while Kris Carlson made 29 saves for his third shutout.

Miller set the tone just 30 seconds into the game, curling into the slot and ripping a wrist shot off the post and in past Brookings starter Jacob Gwillin. 2:30 later, Miller struck again, deflecting Ian Beck's shot between Gwillim's pads. Beck picked up his first NAHL point on the goal. He'd get his second at 15:39, keeping he puck in at the blue line before Travis Kothenbeutel slid a cross slot pass to Cholak for a 3-0 Austin lead at the end of one period.

Miller would score the only goal of the second period at 18:26, tipping in Marcus Karlstrom's blue line offering past Josh Kuemichel, who entered the game after the third goal. The Bruins piled on in the third with Miller scoring at 4:29, and Michael Piehler and Cholak adding powerplay goals in the game's final 2:40.
