Norsemen Hold Off Bruins by 3-0 Final

Nov 5, 2021

ST. CLOUD, MN – A strong power play by the Norsemen helps lead to a 3-0 win over the Bruins.

In the first of the weekend home-and-home series, the Bruins would travel up to St. Cloud on Friday night. First period would be close and fast-paced up until 19:13 of the period where Nick Young would find the back of the net on a pass from Ethan Lindahl. This would be the lone goal of the period as St. Cloud would take a 1-0 lead to the locker room after the first 20 minutes of play.

Things would stay at 1-0 until 11 minutes into the 2nd period when on the power play, Nic Hong would get one past Hudson Hodges to give the Norsemen a 2-0 lead a little over halfway through the period. St. Cloud would strike again when on the power play 8 minutes later, this time Blake Purbix would collect his own rebound off the post to slide it past Hodges to make it 3-0. Bruins would have a few big chances in the 3rd period but could not get one past Tomas Bolo who would stop all 22 of the shots he would face. Hodges would stop 32 of the 35 shots he would face.

Both teams are back at it tomorrow at Riverside Arena in Austin, as the Bruins look to split the weekend series. Puck drop set for 7:05 PM for Albert Lea Youth Hockey Night and Post Game Skate with the Bruins to follow.
