Muzzatti’s Hat Trick Closes Out 2021 With a Bruins Victory

Dec 31, 2021

AUSTIN, MN – Sutter Muzzatti’s 5-point night closes out 2021 with a 5-2 victory over North Iowa!

The Austin Bruins and North Iowa Bulls got together on New Year’s Eve to close out 2021 and welcome in the New Year. Bruins would get on the board first thanks to Damon Furuseth’s 6th of the season at 6:16 of the 1st period from a pass from Sutter Muzzatti to give the Bruins an early 1-0 lead. That lead, however, would be short-lived as former Bruin Dylan Gajewski would score his 11th of the season to tie the game up at 1-1. Muzzatti would get his first goal of the night off a beautiful feed from Braidan Simmons-Fischer to sneak the puck past Hunter Garvey to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead into the locker room after the 1st period of action.

The score would remain 2-1 until 11:33 into the 2nd, when Micahel Mesic would tie the game back up at 2-2 and would be the last goal scored by the Bulls the rest of the night. Bruins would find themselves on the Chad Thomas Trivent Finacial Power Play when Muzzatti would get his second of the game.

In his first game back from injury this season, Walter Zacher would score his first of the season one minute into the 3rd period to make it 4-2 with Muzzatti picking up his 3rd assist of the night and 4th point of the game. He would then cap off the hat-trick with 4 minutes left to play in the 3rd to give the Bruins 5-2 win over their Central Division Rivals. Klayton Knapp would pick up his 6th win of the season while stopping 27 of the 29 shots he would see.

Both teams are back at it tomorrow night down in Mason City. Puck drop set for 7:30 PM
