AUSTIN, MINN. – The Austin Bruins are proud to announce that former forward Sutter Muzzatti has signed a two-year, entry level contract with the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Detroit Red Wings. The former Bruin was acquired by the Red Wings yesterday from the Nashville Predators for future considerations before signing a deal with Detroit.
Muzzatti spent the 2025-26 season at the University of Notre Dame where he tallied 13 goals, 19 assists, 32 points and a 13.5 shooting percentage all of which placed him second on the team. In 37 games played for the Irish, the Okemos, Mich. native recorded three power play goals and one shorthanded goal on 96 shots.
The 23-year-old transferred to Notre Dame after spending three seasons at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. From 2022-25, Muzzatti recorded 50 points (19-31-50) and 129 penalty minutes in 78 games at RPI. Originally selected by Nashville in the fifth round (143rd overall) of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, Muzzatti was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team in 2022-23.
The 6-foot-6, 241-pound forward spent two seasons with the Bruins from 2020-22. In 80 career games in SpamTown, Muzzatti totaled 59 points (17-42-59) leading the team with 46 points and 34 assists during the 2021-22 campaign.
