Nov 28, 2016

AUSTIN, MN – Justin Misiak was named the NAHL Central Division’s First Star of the Week on Monday, becoming the first such Bruin to receive the award this season.

Misiak, a ’96 birth-year from St. Clair Shores, MI, scored two goals and had an assist in the Bruins three games around the Thanksgiving holiday. He scored a goal in each game in Janesville on Wednesday and Friday, a shorthanded tally to open the scoring in a 3-2 shootout victory on Wednesday, November 23rd, and a power play marker on Friday, that got the Bruins on the board in an eventual 5-2 loss. In Saturday’s 3-2 win at home against the Minnesota Magicians, Misiak set up Dante Zapata’s first NAHL gal for a 1-0 lead in the first period.

The second year Bruin currently ranks 2nd on the team in points (18) and is tied for 2nd in goals (7). He leads the team in power play points with seven. Misiak scored 17 goals and added 18 assists in 58 games last season, en route to an appearance in the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.
