Minotauros Out Power Bruins in 4-1 Loss

Dec 18, 2021

MINOT, ND – The first game of the weekend series goes to the Minotauros as they take a 4-1 win on home ice.

Going into the game, the Bruins and Minotauros were tied at the top of the Central Division with 33 points. For the 14 minutes of the 1st period, the game would be scoreless until Connor McGrath would wrap the puck around the net and sneak one past Klayton Knapp to give Minot the first goal of the evening. McGrath wouldn’t waste much time as he would score his second of the night 32 seconds later to give Minot a 2-0 lead and would stay that way after the 1st period of play.

Down 2-0 after 20 minutes, the Bruins would find themselves on the board as Braidan Simmons-Fischer would find a pass from Nick Catalano to cut the Minot lead to 2-1. From there Minot would bring the lead back to two goals, as Ben Johnson would get his 3rd of the season to make it 3-1 after 2 periods of play. Minot would get one more from Braydon Beahm to make it 4-1 and take the first game of the weekend series. Klayton Knapp would stop 23 of the 27 shots he would face.

Both teams are back at it tomorrow before heading on the Holiday Break. Puck drop set for 8:05 PM with Bruins Pregame set for 7:45 PM on the Bruins Media Network of Power 96 and HockeyTV.
