Minot Shut Down the Bruins to Close Out Weekend Series

Nov 20, 2021

AUSTIN, MN – Even with a strong showing of the penalty-kill, Minot closes out the weekend series with a 5-1 win.

Bruins looked to bounce back on Saturday night after falling in Friday night’s contest to the Minotauros. Bruins would get the first goal of the night and would be their only tally on the score sheet, as Ocean Wallace would get his first as a Bruin on the Chad Thomas Thrivent Finacial Power Play on a one time feed from Alex Trombley to give the Bruins the early 1-0 lead 4:27 into the 1st period. Minot, however, would answer right back 26 seconds later, as Tom Fridén would get one past Hudson Hodges to tie the game up at 1-1 and would stay that way after the first 20 minutes of action inside Riverside Arena.

From there Minot would not look back as Joe Westlund pick up his 3rd goal of the season and the eventual game-winner for Minot in the 2nd period and would add his 2nd of the night at 5:17 of the 3rd period. Minot would tally 2 more goals in the 3rd period to close out the night with a 5-1 final and complete the weekend sweep.

Bruins are back at it on Black Friday (Nov. 26th) for a Black Friday Blackout presented by Hormel Black Label against the North Iowa Bulls. Tickets for that game are on sale now at AustinBruins.com.
