Hi, Bruins fans! Welcome to the 10th season of Austin Bruins Hockey. 10 years is an amazing milestone in the world of Junior Hockey. Our aim is that the Austin Bruins organization stays in Austin forever. We need your help to make that happen! If you are a local business consider sponsoring our team as every sponsorship dollar is very important. If you are a fan, bring friends who have never been to a game with you the next time you are at a game. Every fan is important for the next 10 years.
We are, with the help of our partner Hormel, expanding the humanitarian efforts and outreach that our players do each year. If you have ideas for ways we can be more involved volunteering in the community please send me an email at craig@austinbruins.com.
We added two new assistant coaches in the offseason. Keegan Asmundson, the Austin Bruins 1st ever starting goaltender, who had a great college and pro career, is back as an assistant and goalie coach. We are also thrilled to have former college coach Kenny Orlando (the best name in hockey) assisting as well. Kenny has a special skill-set that will help our forwards greatly.
We were sad to see former Bruins Goaltender Nick Lehr go but so happy for his opportunity with the Los Angeles Kings in China! We were also happy for Keenan Kelly getting an awesome opportunity in New Mexico!
We can’t wait to see all of you at the rink this season. Please say hi and bring friends to the game who maybe haven’t been before so we can expand our Bruins family. We truly appreciate your support and can’t wait to get the season going.
