Laurezna Earns Bauer Central Star of the Week Honors

AUSTIN, MN – The North American Hockey League (NAHL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending September 17, 2023.  The Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2023-24 season that honors the top-performing players in the four NAHL divisions. Only players nominated by their respective teams are considered for the Divisional Players of the Week award.

Austin Bruins forward Alex Laurenza, 18, made quite the NAHL debut as the native of Woodbridge, ON, helped Austin get off to a 3-1 start at the NAHL Showcase. Laurenza (5’9/150) put up five points in the four games, which included two goals and three assists. He recorded at least a point in all four games. “Alex has been a great addition to our organization. He is a smart player that will be in all situations for us this season. Our staff is excited to be a part of his development and we are looking forward to helping him earn a scholarship to an NCAA Division I school,” said Bruins head coach Steve Howard.

Ashton Bynum was named an Honorable Mention for his performance at the annual NAHL Showcase in Blaine. The Dallas, Texas native appeared in all four games at the Showcase and picked up four assists with three of them coming on the Power Play.
