AUSTIN, MN – In the first game of the weekend series, the Bruins would take a 3-1 victory over the Minot Minotauros.

Coming into Friday night, the Minotauros held a 2 point lead over the Bruins for 1st place in the Central Division. As expected, the action would be dead-locked for both the Bruins and Minotauros until the final 30 seconds of action in the 1st period. Gavin Morrissey would pick up his 5th goal of the season after finding the loose puck behind Carter Clafton to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead to the locker room after the 1st period of play.

1-0 would be the score until 11:20 into the 2nd when Carson Riddle would find the rebound of the initial shot by Matys Brassard to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead. Riddle, who also appeared in his 177th career regular-season game for the Bruins has now tied Evan Cholak for the All-Time Regular Season Games played in a Bruins Jersey. Riddle currently sits at 181 All-Time Games Played (Regular Season and Playoffs) which is tied for 4th with Lane Krenzen.

The Bruins would get one more goal before the end of the 3rd period from Ocean Wallace, his 4th of the season to give the Bruins a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes of action. Klayton Knapp was flawless for 41:23 of action until Kade Nielsen would break the shut-out on a Power Play goal for the Minotauros. This would be the lone goal scored by Minot as the Bruins would then stay strong to take a 3-1 win and are now tied on top of the Central Division with 39 points.

Both teams are back at it tomorrow night inside Riverside Arena as the Bruins look to complete the weekend sweep. Puck drop set for 7:05 PM.
