Four 3rd Period Goals Propel Bruins Over Norsemen

Oct 8, 2021

ST.CLOUD, MN- In dramatic fashion, the Austin Bruins would come from behind and take the solo game of the weekend by the final of 5-3.

The Bruins would travel up to St. Cloud to take on the Norsemen for the first of twelve meetings between the two clubs this season. For the first 14 minutes of the 1st period, the game would see a lot of back-and-forth action by both the Bruins and Norsemen but that would change as while on the Power Play, Brandon Lajoie would get one past Bruins goalie, Hudson Hodges to give St. Cloud the 1-0 lead to the locker room after the 1st period of action.

1:28 into the 2nd Period, Alex Trombley would score his 3rd of the season to tie things up at 1-1. For most of the 2nd, it would stay tied until the Norsemen would strike again on the Power Play, this time from Kade Peterson to give St. Cloud a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes of action inside the Municipal Athletic Center.

3rd period would begin the same way as the 2nd ended as a 2-1 lead for St.Cloud until the 8:24 mark of the 3rd as Jens Richards would find a loose puck in front of the net of Ethan Dahlmeir to tie things up at 2-2. That tie, however, would be shorted lived and Blake Perbix would score on a penalty shot to give the Norsemen a 3-2 lead halfway through the 3rd period. With their backs against the wall, the Bruins would dig deep and tie things back with 7 minutes left to play as Sutter Muzzatti would sneak one past Dalhmeir. The Bruins never led until Austin Salani would score the game-winner at the 14:10 mark and Carson Riddle would seal the deal with an empty-net goal.

Bruins have the rest of the weekend off as they prepare to welcome the Bismarck Bobcats to Riverside Arena next weekend on October 15th and 16th. Tickets are available now by heading to AustinBruins.com
