Dante Sheriff Earns Second Consecutive NAHL Bauer Central Division First Star of the Week

Jan 6, 2020

AUSTIN, Minn. – For the second week in a row, nobody in the Central Division was better than Dante Sheriff. On Monday, the third-year Bruin was named the NAHL Bauer Central Division First Star of the week.

Sheriff, 20, earned five total points on the weekend scoring two goals and adding three helpers as the Bruins swept the Bismarck Bobcats on back-to-back nights. In his last four games, Sheriff has earned a total of nine points and has been red-hot for the Bruins who’ve earned points in their last seven games.

“Dante had another great weekend for us,” said Bruins Head Coach Steve Howard. “We were short some forwards due to some players being sick and he, along with the rest of our players, stepped up in a big way. We expect Dante to keep it up and stay focused on continuing his hot streak.”

Sheriff is the first two-time winner this season, bringing the total number of Bruins named as Central Division First Star of the Week to four, including single-timers Connor Mylymok and Ben Almquist.

Along with his teammates, Sheriff prepares for three games in three days this weekend all against the St. Cloud Blizzard. The trio of contests begin on Thursday, January 9 with Austin making the trip off north. On Friday, January 10, the Bruins welcome the Blizzard to Riverside Arena before wrapping up the series in St. Cloud on Saturday, January 11. For tickets to Friday night’s game, stop by any one of the Bruins vendors including Games People Play, Hy-Vee, Holiday Inn, and Jim’s Marketplace, to save off the door price.
