The Austin Bruins were back in action on the final day of 2012 as they battled Chill. Riverside Arena was electric in the first with a great pace on the ice. Austin blasted 19 shots on Devin Kero in the first frame while Jason Pawloski saw 5. At the first intermission the score was 0-0. The second period Brandon Wahlin put the Bruins up on the Power Play, the assist went to Cody Dixon. The Chill added a couple of goals just a minute apart to take a 2-1 lead. Austin tied the contest with a goal from Kody Reuter, assisting was AJ Reid and Grant Eichstadt. With the score tied at two, it did not last long. The Chill regained the lead with a shorthanded goal. At the end of two periods of play Austin trailed 3-2. The third period Austin tied the game 3-3 with Power Play goal from Brandon Wahlin assisting was Cody Dixon and AJ Reid. The Bruins took over in the third with a goal from Chris Fischer, AJ Reid and CJ Smith recorded assists. Austin made it 5-3 with a goal from Brandon Wahlin to complete the hat trick, assisting was Drew Anderson. The final goal came from CJ Smith assisting was Chris Fischer and Scotty Nelson. Austin makes it 6 straight wins with the 6-3 win. The Bruins are now 5-0 against the Chill this season. Austin will play next weekend against the Minot Minotauros at Riverside.
