The Austin Bruins wrapped up regular season play against the Aberdeen Wings this Saturday Night at Riverside Arena. The first frame the Bruins had ten shots on net but none that crossed the goal line. Aberdeen got a goal from Jonathan Grebosky that gave the Wings a 1-0 lead. In the second period the B’s continued to get shots on Chad Catt but could not get one behind him. At the end of two periods of play Austin trailed 1-0 and outshot Aberdeen 20-18. The third period the Black and Yellow found the twine with a goal from Josh Bretner, Kody Reuter and Brandon Wahlin. Austin gained the lead with a goal from Kody Reuter assisting was Jake Arroyo and Nolan Kirley. The B’s went up 3-1 with a goal from Grant Eichstadt assists went to AJ Reid and Drew Anderson. 10 seconds later AJ Reid added another point as he dented the twine, Drew Anderson and Mike Bond had the helpers. Austin picked up the 4-1 victory going 10-2 against the Wings this season. With the victory Nick Lehr surpassed Tyler Bruggeman for all time goaltender wins with 32. The Bruins will play the Coulee Region Chill in Onalaska Wisconsin next Friday and Saturday you can tune into AM 1480 KAUS for live play by play.
