Bruins Win Game One

The Austin Bruins were back at home ice to greet the Bismarck Bobcats in a best of 5 series.  The opening stanza was a great start for the Black and Yellow. CJ Smith was set up by Chris Fischer on his first shift of the evening. Before CJ Smith could come off the ice for a change, he added his second goal. Austin outshot Bismarck in the first period 13-9. The second frame Bismarck cut the Bruins lead in half with a goal from Cory Chapman. Austin regained a two goal lead with a goal from John Simonson, Chris Fischer and Kody Reuter had assists. At the end of two frames Austin led 3-1. The final frame Bismarck added their second goal of the contest. The Black and Yellow answered back when CJ Smith completed the hat trick. The B’s finished regulation time with a 4-2 win over the Bobcats. Nick Lehr saved 40 pucks as he picked up his 38th career win.
