Bruins travel to Bismarck

The Bruins sparked off a road series this Friday night in Bismarck North Dakota as they faced off against the defending Robertson Cup Champion Bismarck Bobcats.  The Bobcats came into action winning two in a row against the Owatonna Express and the Aberdeen Wings.  Bismarck has continued to get strong goaltending from Ryan Faragher, coming into action Faragher is 5th in the league in goals against and already has 23 wins on the season. The Bruins entered action losing their last two at Riverside Arena. The Bruins last road game was a 6-1 win over the Express at Four Seasons Centre. The last series against the Bobcats was a split at Riverside Arena in which the Bruins outscored the Bobcats in the series 6-5. The opening frame from the VFW was slower than usual as both teams were feeling each other out. At the first intermission the contest was scoreless and shots were even at ten. The second period the Bobcats pumped one in one the power play from Nickolaj Rosenthal; assists went to Daniel Zawacki and Daniel Ray. The pace picked up as a line brawl broke out that featured a goalie fight as Keegan Asmundson jumped into the mix and fought Ryan Faragher. The Bobcats added one more from Nickolaj Rosenthal. At the end of two periods of play the Bruins trailed 2-0. The final frame the Bruins could not find the back of the net. The final score from the VFW was 2-0 Bobcats.
