Bruins Lose Close Battle

The Austin Bruins faced off against the defending Robertson Cup Champion Bismarck Bobcats for the second time this weekend. Last night the Bruins skated to a 3-1 victory over the Bobcats. Keegan Asmundson picked up career win number thirty in his North American Hockey career. The bobcats are coming off two strait losses and are in 3rdplace in the Central Division. The opening frame from Riverside Arena was action packed as the Bobcats got off to a quick start. Castan Sommer scored for the Bruins assists went to Matt Gates and Jason Nash. The Bruins were able to tie the game up later in the period as Charlie Adams shot a puck from the blue line that was tipped in by Jordan Greenberg. At the first intermission the Bruins and Bobcats were all notched up at one. The second period the Bruins pumped one in on the power play as Charlie Adams got a pass from Christian Folin; Waldoch was also credited with an assist. The Bobcats were able to get it back, Nick Miglio scored assists went to Tyler Richter and Charles Aus. At the second intermission the Bruins and Bobcats were tied up at two goals apiece.  The third period the Bobcats capitalized on a turnover as Nickolas Miglio put one in giving the Bobcats the 3-2 lead. The Bobcats pick up the victory 3-2. The Bruins are on the road next weekend as they will travel to Bismarck to take on the Bobcats. It will be the final meetings between the two teams.
