Bruins Lose 2-1

The Austin Bruins continued the home series against the Alexandria Blizzard Saturday night. The first period the Blizzard got on the board first as Reid Sturos was able to beat Austin goaltender Nicholas Lehr. The Bruins had many scoring opportunities late in the first period. The Bruins outshot Alexandria in the first 13-7. The second period the Blizzard added their second goal of the tilt. The Bruins were able to answer back as Jon Gerht set up CJ Smith making it a 2-1 hockey game. At the end of two periods of play shots were 20-16 in favor of Austin. The third period the Bruins had plenty of scoring opportunities but could not beat goaltender Jake Myers. The Bruins outshot the Blizzard 32-26 despite losing a close game 2-1.
