Bruins Gear Up For Ninth-Annual Paint the Rink Pink Night

AUSTIN, Minn. – The Austin Bruins are proud to be a key feature in the town’s annual Paint the Town Pink celebration and fundraiser and for the ninth consecutive year, the Bruins will host a Paint the Rink Pink game to raise cancer awareness and funds for cancer research at the Hormel Institute.

For the Bruins game on Saturday, February 2 against the Minnesota Magicians, Riverside Arena ice will be dyed pink while the team dons specialty pink uniforms complete with a sublimated pattern created with names submitted by the Austin community of those who have been affected by cancer. These game-worn jerseys will be available to fans during a post-game auction. During the auction, Bruins players will be entertaining the crowd with self-created skits which will run the gamut from songs and dance numbers, comedy routines, or other exciting events.

During the game, the Bruins will have special intermission games including giving one lucky fan the chance to win $100,000 during the Dippin’ Stix Shot of the Game and also a tribute video on the arena’s brand new video board. The Bruins are asking fans to submit a photo of themselves or a friend or loved one who has battled cancer so that the Bruins may honor them during the tribute. Submit your photo along with the name(s), and designation(s) regarding if the pictured has survived cancer, is currently fighting, or has lost their battle, to the Bruins at either tj@austinbruins.com or brian@austinbruins.com.

Tickets for the game will be available at the door on the date of the event, or can be purchased through the Bruins front office by calling 507-434-4978 or by visiting the following Bruins ticket vendors: Games People Play, Hy-Vee, Holiday Inn, and Jim’s Marketplace.

T-Shirts are also available at Games People Play which mimic the team’s specialty pink jerseys. All t-shirt sales, jersey auction sales, and other proceeds will benefit cancer research at the Hormel Institute.
