Bruins Finish With Bang

Mar 26, 2011

The Austin Bruins played their final game of Expansion Season against the Coulee Region Chill. The Bruins had three players aging out this season and playing in the final junior game this Sunday night. All three players have several options at the collegiate level for next season. Goaltender Keegan Asmundson who got his start in the North American Hockey League with the Northern Iowa Outlaws will age out. Also Bruins captain Sam Olson who played the majority of his junior career in the Saskatchewan league.  Also Mike Adamowicz will say his farewell to juniors; Mike has developed a name for himself as one of the best all around players in the North American League.  The Bruins will only have three players aging out next season but will be saying farewell to leadership and character. The opening period the Bruins had great puck movement which resulted in the first goal. Charlie Adams dished one for Jordan Greenberg and he beat Paul Moberg making it 1-0 Bruins.  The Bruins continued the creativity, this time Sam Olson found the back of the net. Assisting on the tally was Alex Tesensky and Nolan Kirley, at the first intermission the Bruins led the Chill 2-0. The second period was an extremely physical one as Austin’s defense answered the call. Keegan Asmundson stopped 27 pucks through two periods of play and the Bruins led the Chill 2-0. The final period the Bruins would not let up, Connor Quinn hit the back of the net, Chase McDonald had the assist. Next it was James Dickinson getting in on the action, the goal was unassisted. The Chill were able to squeeze one past Keegan Asmundson with less than a minute remaining in the period. The Bruins pick up the victory in the final game of the inaugural season 4-1.
