Nov 22, 2015

AUSTIN, MN – Seven different Bobcats found the back of the net in an 8-1 victory over the Austin Bruins on Saturday night at Riverside Arena. Jacob Paganelli scored a third period powerplay goal for the Bruins but Bismarck's offense was firing on all cyllinders and the teams split the weekend series, as they did in North Dakota.

Oskars Batna and Kyle Sylvester scored in the first period for the Bobcats while Travis Wood and Tobias Fladeby added on in the second. Austin Smith replaced Kris Carlson in the Bruins' net after the fourth goal. Solag Bakich made it 5-0 early in the 3rd before Paganelli's powerplay goal put the Bruins on the board. Harrison Aide, Jared Pike, and Bakich all scored in the third as well, to bring the game to the 8-1 final score. Bismarck's Hunter Shepard made 27 stops for his 9th win. The Bruins surrendered 45 shots – Carlson stopped 28 and Smith turned aside nine.

The Bruins have another busy week ahead, traveling to La Crosse to take on the Coulee Region Chill on Wednesday, before hosting Minot Friday and Saturday night at Riverside Arena. The Bruins are honoring our nation's military by wearing camouflage uniforms next weekend, to be live auctioned off after Saturday night's game. Proceeds will benefit Defending the Blue Line, an organization that raises money to allow children of military members to play the sport of hockey. All active and former military members receive free admission to Saturday night's game with military I.D.
