Bruins Drop Morning Game to Brookings

AUSTIN, MN – In front of nearly 1,000 students on Wednesday morning at Riverside Arena, the Bruins fell to the Brookings Blizzard, 3-2.

Jan Stefka (Czech Republic) had both Bruins goals, scoring midway through the first period to tie the game 1-1 and then again at 13:08 of the 2nd on the powerplay to tie it at 2. Brookings got a pair of goals from Nicholas Cardelli and another from Derek Hammer. The game winner was scored by Cardelli just 34 seconds after Stefka’s tying goal in the 2nd.

Alex Schilling made 33 saves in the loss while Josh Boyko made 31 stops for his 12th win. The Bruins head to Bismarck to wrap up the first half with a pair of 7:15 faceoffs on Friday and Saturday night against the Bobcats.
