Bruins Drop Central Division Battle With Bismarck, 3-1

Nov 16, 2018

AUSTIN, Minn. –  For the first time this season, the Bruins have lost three straight after falling to the Bobcats 3-1.

The black and gold jumped out to the lead halfway through the first period, thanks to Reggie Millette. The second-year player tallied his first goal of the season after missing three games with an injury. His shot from the slot rang off the arm of Bismarck goalie John Roberts and slipped through.

It didn’t take long for the Bobcats to level the score, only 41 seconds, off the stick of Mitchell Walinski. After no scoring in the middle frame, Daniel Chladek netted his third goal of the week beating Kyle McClellan through the five-hole. With the goalie pulled and the extra attacker on the ice, the Bruins couldn’t capitalize as Bismarck added the empty-netter with just six seconds remaining to ice the game.

Kyle McClellan made 21 saves in the game and added a handful of highlight-reel stops in the loss. The two teams meet once again on Saturday night where the Bruins will be out for blood. Tickets are still available for Saturday’s night game at all of the Bruins ticket-partner locations including Hy-Vee, Games People Play, Jim’s Marketplace and the Holiday Inn Austin Conference Center.
