Bruins Clip Wings in 3-1 Victory

Oct 29, 2021

ABERDEEN, SD- Bruins take two big points from Aberdeen as the Bruins beat the Wings by the final of 3-1.

Last season, the Bruins had some difficulty with Aberdeen, as the Wings would win in all the meetings the two teams had. Tonight, however, was a different story. The 1st period would start of fast-paced as right out the gate, both the Bruins and Wings would come out strong. Things would stay scoreless until the 13:26 mark of the 1st period when Michal Jasenec would collect his 3rd goal on the season from a feed from Isaak Brassard. Bruins would take a 1-0 lead to the locker room after the first 20 minutes of play.

The physical play would pick up in the 2nd period, as big hits would come from both teams. Aberdeen would come back to tie up the contest at 1-1 courtesy of Patrick O’Connell’s 3rd goal of the season. The game would stay 1-1 until the Bruins would find themselves on the Chad Thomas-Thrivent Finacial Power Play, and John Larkin would deliver a blast from the point to smoke one past Wings goalie Greg Orosz. Bruins would then take a 2-1 lead to the locker room with 20 minutes left to play.

3rd period would start the way the 2nd period ended at 2-1 and stay that way until 15:05 of the period when Jens Richards would redirect a shot past Orosz to give Austin a 3-1 lead with 5 minutes to play at the Odde Ice Center. There, the Bruins would kill a huge penalty the last 2 minutes of the game to take the final 3-1.

Both teams are back at it tomorrow night at 7:15 as the Bruins look to complete the weekend sweep.
