Bruins Blank Bobcats!

The Austin Bruins wrapped up their road trip this Monday in Bismarck North Dakota. The game was originally scheduled for Friday March 11thbut was cancelled due to inclement weather. The Bruins enter action with an even record 11-11-1 in 2011. The opening frame from the VFW was a solid start for the Bruins; Dawson Kuhlmann scored his first goal of his North American Hockey League career. Assisting on the Kuhlmann goal was Alex Tesensky and Jordan Greenberg. The Bruins ripped 20 pucks on Ryan Faragher in period number one. At the first intermission the Bruins had a 1-0 lead. The second period the Bruins continued to battle the full 20 minutes. With seven seconds left in the period Alex Tesensky beat Bobcats goaltender Ryan Faragher on the power play and the Bruins led 2-0. Assisting on the Tesensky goal was the Air Force recruit Trevor Waldoch. At the second intermission the Bruins led the Bobcats 2-0 and Keegan Asmundson had 34 saves for the Bruins. The final frame from the VFW in Bismarck North Dakota was another fast pace period. The Bobcats Charley Mosey sprung a pass to Tyler Richter and he beat Keegan Amundson on a breakaway making it a one goal game. The Bruins were able to keep the Bobcats off the scoreboard for the remainder of the third, Keegan Asmundson finished the night with 50 saves! The Bruins hold on for the 2-1 victory. The Bruins are in action next weekend at Riverside Arena against the Aberdeen Wings. This will be the final home series of the season. On Friday night if you wear green you will get $2 off of your ticket and be entered into a drawing for prizes. Saturday night is fan appreciation night and all fans will get chances to win prizes also fans can join the Bruins in a postgame skate.
