Bruins Battle Back but Full in Weekend Opener

Nov 19, 2021

AUSTIN, MN – Bruins would battle back late in the 3rd period but full to the Minotauros 3-1.

In the 5th meeting of the season between the two teams, and the first at Riverside since September 25th, the Minotauros would jump out to the early 1-0 lead thanks to David Nesburg’s 5th goal of the season 6:29 of the period. This would be the only tally of the period as Minot would take the one-goal lead to the locker room.

In the 2nd period, Bruins goalie, Klayton Knapp, would come up big with a few point-blank saves to keep it a 1-0 lead for Minot, until 5:09 into the 2nd when Sam Saccone would sneak one past Knapp to give the Minotauros a 2-0 lead. Bruins would battle back in the 3rd period as Austin Salani would collect his 4th of the year of a loose puck in front of the net of Zach Sandy to pull the Bruins within one with 9 minutes left to play. The comeback, however, would be cut short at Blake Arneson would get his first of the season with the empty-net to give Minot a 3-1 win. Knapp would stop 23 of the 25 shots he would face.

Bruins are back at it tomorrow night in the 2nd of the weekend series against the Minotauros. Puck drop set for 7:05 pm.
