Dec 9, 2022

ABERDEEN, SD – The Bruins battled back from a two-goal deficit to force overtime with Aberdeen but ultimately fell tonight 4-3.

It has been forty days since the Bruins and the Wings with that game on October 29th. Both teams would play very similarly in the first period as it would end the same way it started at a scoreless tie. The second period would be a high-scoring affair as it would begin at the 8:14 mark Dylan Wegner would get his 3rd goal of the season after sneaking a shot past Ethan Robertson. Moments later, Jonathan Barker would get his first goal of the season to give the Wings a then 2-0 lead. Austin would battle back, as Nick Blood would snap a shot past Geno Pichora to pull the Bruins back within a goal. Aberdeen would retake a two-goal lead thanks to Nils Forselius’s 6th goal of the season to make it a 3-1 lead after two periods of play at the Odde.

The Bruins would start off the 3rd period hot with two straight goals, one from Jimmy Goffredo, and the other from Walter Zacher to tie the game up at 3-3. The rest of the 3rd period would be a physical battle but the game would find itself going to overtime. During the overtime period, both teams would find themselves with multiple scoring chances, but it would be Nikolai Tishkevich with his 10th goal of the year to give the Wings the extra point in the overtime frame and come away with the 4-3 win.

The Bruins look to split the weekend tomorrow night in Aberdeen with puck drop set at 7:15 PM CST.
