BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Two Young Pros Getting Revved Up, Zapata Cruising At Utica College

ECHL: Jay Dickman (Bruins ’12-14) broke into the professional ranks at the end of last season with the Florida Everblades, and while the former Bruins forward earned his first point last year, his first professional goal eluded him. That is, until this past weekend. Now with the Indy Fuel, Dickman notched his first professional goal in the Fuel’s 6-0 rout of the Maine Mariners. SPHL: Another first for a former Bruins  forward in the professional ranks who earned his first goal recently is Brian Bachnak (Bruins ’13-15). The one-time Bruins captain, now in the SPHL with the Knoxville IceBears, scored his first pro-goal on November 23 en route to a 5-4 win over the Pensacola Ice Flyers.

NCAA DII: Dante Zapata (Bruins ’16-19) wasted no time getting going on his collegiate goal scoring. Now at Utica College, Zapata has logged five points in his first eight games (3G, 2A). The Huntington Beach, California native is fourth on the Pioneers roster in scoring thusfar and has helped the team to a top-10 ranking, coming in at No. 8 in the country with a 5-1-2 record.
