BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Smith and Simonson score, Pawloski gets first W

Only two tiers of hockey in this week's Bruins almni report but six different players making the news!

NCAA: U-Mass Lowell and Merimack played a pair of 1-1 ties this weekend, with C.J. Smith (Bruins ’11-’13) scoring the lone Riverhawks goal on Friday. Meanwhile, the University of North Dakota stayed unbeaten as Johnny Simonson (Bruins ’11-’13) scored his 2nd goal in 3 games in a 2-0 win against Vermont on Friday. The same night, Goaltender Jason Pawloski (Bruins ’12-’13) made 18 saves for his first collegiate win, a 3-2 Minnesota State victory over Bemidji State.

USHL: Josh Wilkins (Bruins ’14-’15), who recently committed to Providence College, scored the opening goal in a 4-1 Sioux City victory over Des Moines on Friday. Nico Sturm (Bruins ’14-’15) scored a goal and Ian Scheid (Bruins ’14-’15) registered an assist for the Muskeeters as they finished a perfect weekend the following night, defeating Tri City, 5-3.
