BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Smith an OT Winner, Stauber Debuts in USHL

AHL:  C.J. Smith (Bruins 11-13) and the Rochester Americans earned a weekend sweep over their north division rivals, the Cleveland Monsters. Smith was the hero on Saturday netting the overtime winning goal. The goal for Smith was his eighth of the season and thanks to the sweep, the Americans sit in first place in the North with a six-point lead.

NCAA DI: A strong sophomore season is well underway for Austin Rueschhoff (Bruins 15-16) at Western Michigan. Through 15 games the Wentzville, MO, native has five goals and six assists for 11 points and is on pace to break his freshman point total of 17.

Justin Misiak (Bruins 15-17) and the Michigan Tech Huskies split their weekend series with the University of Alabama – Huntsville, winning on Saturday night after falling on Friday night. Though he didn’t have any points on the weekend, Misiak has three goals in 18 games this season for Tech.

USHL:  Levi Stauber (Bruins 18-19) is still looking for his first point in the USHL since being loaned to Dubuque on Thursday of last week. Stauber has three games played for the Fighting Saints, all of which Dubuque has earned at least a standings point. Since Stauber came on board the Fighting Saints are 1-0-1-1.
