NCAA DI: Eamon McAdam (Bruins ’10-11) earned Big 10 Star of the Week honors at the beginning of last week after making 39 saves and assisting on a goal as Penn State beat Wisconsin 4-1 on January 16th.
NCAA DIII: #2 Adrian split the weekend with #1 St. Norbert, with a 5-4 Friday win, extending their winning streak to 11, and then snapping the streak with a 2-1 loss on Saturday. Trevor Boyd (Bruins ’13-14) was a big part of Friday’s win with a goal and two assists while Brian Bachnak (Bruins ’13-15) also had an assist. Also last week, Cory Dunn (Bruins ’13-15) was named to the D3Hockey.com team of the week with his 5 assist, +7 performance in the Bulldog sweep of Lake Forest.
USHL: Nico Sturm (Bruins ’14-15) put up a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win for Tri City on Friday over Dubuque. Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) also stopped 23 of 24 shots for his 11th win of the season. In the same game, Trey Dodd (Bruins ’13-15) suited up for the final time as a Fighting Saint before being traded to Sioux City on Saturday. Riese Zmolek (Bruins ’14-15) snapped a five game pointless streak with an assist in Cedar Rapids’ 3-2 win over Muskegon on Friday. Guillame LeClerc (Bruins ’13-14) scored the opening goal and then later added an assist as the Madison Capitals edged the US U-18 team, 5-4 on Saturday as well.
