BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Lamppa Commits to Penn State, Zmolek and Petrick Rolling On In College

NCAA DI: Riese Zmolek (Bruins ’14-15) kicks things off this week on the Bruins Alumni Report. In his junior season at Minnesota State Unversity, Mankato – Zmolek is on pace for his best season of his collegiate career. After a freshman season that saw him put up seven total points, a sophomore year which he bested tallying nine total points, Zmolek has already reached the nine-point plateau this season only 33 games in. With two goals and seven assists, Zmolek has been contributing for the Mavericks who are currently ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation according to most polls.

NCAA DI: As a freshman at Sacred Heart University, Dan Petrick (Bruins 16-18) has settled in. As expected, Petrick isn’t playing in every game for the Pioneers but has contributed two assists in the fourteen games he has played. The defenseman is also a “plus” player with a +/- of +1, something he hasnt done since his time in Austin.

NCAA DIII: Liam Feeney (Bruins ’14-15) is about to wrap up his collegiate career as his senior season at Trinity College will be coming to a close in a few weeks. For Feeney, the senior defenseman has registered 15 total points (1G, 14A) and ranks sixth on the team in that category. An assistant captain for the Bantams, Feeney is a leader in the locker room and on the ice.

USHL: As a Rochester, MN, native currently playing in Waterloo, Xander Lamppa (Bruins ’17-18) will be continuing his hockey career out east next season. The 19-year-old announced his commitment to play in the Big 10 with Penn State University. After 44 games this season with the Waterloo Blackhawks, Lamppa leads the team in scoring with 42 points (14G, 28A). His point total is DOUBLE where he landed last season and is the most points he’s scored in a season since his sophomore season at Rochester JM.
