BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Kucharski a Top 5 Goalie in NHL Central Scouting

AHL: C.J. Smith (Bruins ’11-13) had another big night in the Amerks 4-1 Friday win over Charlotte, scoring a goal and adding two assists. His 37 points leads Rochester and is top 10 in the AHL.

NCAA DI: Clarkson’s run stalled over the weekend when a crazy 6-6 tie with Harvard ended their 14-game winning streak, only to see them lose their first game since October 28th the following night, 3-2 to Dartmouth. In the loss, Nico Sturm (Bruins ’14-15) scored the 10th goal of his Sophomore year. Alex Jasiek (Bruins ’14-15) contributed to Dartmouth’s upset win with an assist, that followed a goal the previous night in another 3-2 win for the Big Green over St. Lawrence. Western Michigan played a pair of OT games against Colorado College and split, with a 3-2 Friday win followed by a 6-5 Saturday loss. Austin Rueschhoff (Bruins ’15-16) scored a goal while Dawson DiPietro (Bruins ’15-16) had an assist on the weekend. Josh Wilkins (Bruins ’14-15) stayed hot, scoring twice and extending his goal streak to three games as Providence beat UConn 3-1 on Friday. Jay Dickman (Bruins ’12-14) registered yet another multi-goal performance with a pair of tallies in Bemidji State’s 4-1 win at Ferris State – part of a weekend road sweep for the Beavers. Dickman’s 13 goals leads the team. Justin Misiak (Bruins ’15-17) scored his 5th goal of a season in a nice weekend series for Michigan Tech, who swept Alaska, 5-2 and 4-3 at home.

NCAA DIII: Adrian’s win streak rolled to 7 with wins over the Milwaukee School of Engineering and Concordia (WI). Cory Dunn (Bruins ’13-15) finished the weekend with two assists while Trevor Boyd (Bruins ’14-15) had a goal and an assist. Brian Bachnak (Bruins ’13-15) also scored a goal in the sweep.

USHL: Jake Kucharski (Bruins ’16-17) was named the #5 goaltender in the NHL Central Scouting Mid-term rankings this week. He and fellow Bruins alum Zach Driscoll (Bruins ’14-15) split a pair of games with Des Moines winning 3-0 in Friday on a 17-save shutout for Kucharski. Driscoll was the backup Friday but started on Saturday and made 27 saves as Omaha earned the split, winning 5-1. AJ Drobot (Bruins ’15-17) snapped a 10-game goal-less drought by scoring the lone goal in Fargo’s 3-1 loss to Sioux City on Saturday.
