BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Kielly up for Hobey Baker

AHL: C.J. Smith (Bruins ’11-13) scored his team leading 13th goal in Rochester’s 2-1 shootout loss to Utica on Monday. The All-Star now leads the team in all three main offensive categories.

NCAA DI: Clarkson extended their winning streak to 14 with wins over Union and RPI and moved up to #2 in the nation. Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) was nominated for the Hobey Baker Award for the best player in college hockey (Fans can vote HERE). He picked up his NCAA-leading 6th shutout on Saturday and continues to have the best GAA and the most wins of any goaltender in the nation on top of it. Nico Sturm (Bruins ’14-15) had a two-point weekend to help the cause with an assist Friday and a goal Saturday. Ian Scheid (Bruins ’14-15) had an assist in Mankato’s 5-1 win over Alaska-Fairbanks on Saturday as the Mavericks split their weekend series. Jade Miller (Bruins ’14-16) picked up a helper as Minnesota-Duluth finished a sweep of Colorado College, also winning by a 5-1 Saturday final. Dawson DiPietro (Bruins ’15-16) had a goal and three assists on the weekend as Western Michigan split a series at St. Cloud. DiPietro is 2nd on the Broncos in scoring. Josh Wilkins (Bruins ’14-15) made it goals in 3 of 4 games as he scored in each of Providence’s New England contests as they beat Boston College and tied Boston University. Jay Dickman (Bruins ’12-14) had an assist in a 5-1 loss to North Dakota. Bemidji tied the Fighting Hawks the next night. Niko Hildenbrand (Bruins ’13-14) had his second consecutive three-point weekend (2 goals, 1 assist) as UMass-Amherst beat Vermont 6-3 and then lost to Maine, 3-1. Alex Jasiek (Bruins ’14-15) had an assist in each of Dartmouth’s weekend games, a 4-3 win over Quinnipiac and a 6-3 loss to Princeton. Justin Misiak (Bruins ’15-17) picked up his 4th assist of the season in Michigan Tech’s 3-2 Saturday loss to Arizona State.

NCAA DIII: Cory Dunn (Bruins ’13-15), who had no goals and 17 assists coming into the weekend, scored twice in Adrian’s 5-2 win against Lake Forest. Trevor Boyd (Bruins ’14-15) also had a huge weekend for the Bulldogs with 2 goals and 3 assists. Adrian beat Aurora 6-1 Saturday to finish their undefeated weekend. Michael Piehler (Bruins ’15-17) scored his third goal of the season as Bethel defeated Wisconsin-River Falls 3-2 on Saturday to snap an 8-game losing streak.
