Mar 20, 2018

AHL: CJ Smith (Bruins ’11-13) scored a hat trick in just his third game back from injury on Sunday against Hartford, but the Amerks fell to the Wolfpack, 6-4. Smith had missed over a month but is still Rochester’s points leader – with 42. Eamon McAdam (Bruins ’10-11) defeated Smith and the Amerks last Thursday, stopping all 19 shots he faced in relief as Bridgeport rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win, 6-4.

SPHL: Charlie Adams (Bruins ’10-12) enjoyed a two-point weekend, extending his streak to four games. He contributed an assist in Pensacola’s 5-2 win over Peoria on Friday and then scored the team’s only goal in their 2-1 OT loss on Saturday.

NCAA DI: Two NCAA Regional Semifinal battles will feature former Bruins going head-to-head. Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) and Nico Sturm (Bruins ’14-15) will take on Josh Wilkins’ (Bruins ’14-15) Providence Friars in Bridgeport, CT after falling to Jacob Paganelli (Bruins ’15-16) and Princeton in the ECAC Hockey Championship on Saturday, 2-1 in OT. The Golden Knights beat Harvard in overtime the previous night with Sturm assisting on the game winner. Providence also lost their conference championship, falling to Boston University on Saturday, 2-0. Princeton will take on Ohio State in Allentown, PA as part of the Midwest Regionals. In the West Regional Semis, Minnesota State-Mankato, which rosters Jason Pawloski (Bruins ’10-11), Ian Scheid (Bruins ’14-15), and Riese Zmolek (Bruins ’14-15), will take on Jade Miller (Bruins ’15-16) and the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs in Sioux Falls, SD. Although they still gained a big to the Big Dance, Duluth lost in the NCHC Tournament to Denver and North Dakota over the weekend. Justin Misiak (Bruins ’15-17) and the Michigan Tech Huskies are WCHA Champions after defeating Northern Michigan 2-0 on Saturday. Misiak helped set up the game winner. Next up for the Huskies is a meeting with Notre Dame in Bridgeport on Friday.

NCAA DIII: Luke Dietsch (Bruins ’13-15) and Drew Anderson (Bruins ’12-14) both hit the scoresheet – Dietsch with a goal and Anderson with an assist, but Augsburg’s season came to an end at the hands of St. Norbert on Saturday, 5-2. Trevor Boyd (Bruins ’13-15) scored his 17th goal of the season in what turned out to be Adrian’s final game as well – a 5-2 Saturday loss to Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

USHL: Keaton Pehrson (Bruins ’16-17) got his fourth goal of the season on Sunday as Tri City defeated the Chicago Steel, 5-2.
