BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Folin Scores, DiPietro Goes Off

NHL: Christian Folin (Bruins ’10-12) scored his first goal as a member of the Kings on Saturday, a weird one that came on a dump in from center ice. Folin’s goal was part of a third period comeback, but L.A. fell to Nashville in OT, 4-3.

AHL: CJ Smith (Bruins ’11-13) had a four-assist week as the Rochester Americans went 2-0-1 in three games against Utica and Hersey. Smith remains tied for the team points lead, with ten. (2 goals, 8 assists)

ECHL: Eamon McAdam (Bruins ’10-11) got his 2nd win of the season, facing 35 shots and stopping 33 as Worcester defeated Reading, 4-2 on Friday.

SPHL: Keegan Asmundson (Bruins ’10-11), continued his strong start to the season for the Huntsville Havoc, turning away 41 of 44 shots and getting plenty of goal-support in an 8-3 win over Fayetteville on Friday.

NCAA DI: Dawson DiPietro (Bruins ’15-16) had a huge weekend as Western Michigan got a big home sweep of defending National Champion Denver, handing them their first two losses of the season by scores of 6-5 and 7-4. On Friday, DiPietro scored two goals with an assist, and on Saturday he added two more assists. He’s up to third on the Broncos stat chart in scoring with five goals and six assists. Ian Scheid (Bruins ’14-15) scored the first goal for Minnesota State-Mankato and Jason Pawloski (Bruins ’12-13) stopped all 26 shots he faced as the Mavericks topped Northern Michigan, 3-0. Trey Dodd (Bruins ’13-15) registered his first two points of the season – a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss to Alex Jasiek (Bruins ’14-15) and Dartmouth. Jasiek had an assist in the game and then a goal the following night as the Big Green defeated Yale, 3-1. Jay Dickman (Bruins ’12-14) had a multi-point weekend with a goal on Friday and an assist on Saturday at Alaska, as Bemidji State took a 4-3 OT loss and rebounded with a 3-2 win. Nico Sturm (Bruins ‘14-15) had an assist on Friday and the game-winning goal Saturday as Clarkson got a pair of wins over RPI and Union. Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) was the winning goaltender in both games with 37 of 39 possible saves, including a shutout on Friday. Justin Misiak (Bruins ’15-17) had an assist but Michigan Tech saw their winless streak reach five with 2-1 loss and a 2-2 tie against Bowling Green.

NCAA DIII: Logan Haskins (Bruins ’15-17) got his first collegiate goal as Gustavus Adolphus topped St. Olaf on the road, 3-1 on Friday.

USHL: Kris Carlson (Bruins ’15-16) improved to 3-2-0 as he made 24 saves on 25 shots in a 2-1 win against the Chicago Steel on Sunday. AJ Drobot (Bruins ’15-17) picked up an assist in Fargo’s 6-3 win over Waterloo on Saturday.
