BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Almquist Logging Games for UMD, Kelley Continues His Pro Career

Mar 5, 2020

SPHL/FPHL: Dillon Kelley (Bruins ’13-14) is living life after juniors and college hockey as a professional goaltender. Since graduating from Adrian College in 2017-18, Kelley has played games in the ECHL, SPHL and FPHL. This season, he’s split his time between the Peoria Rivermen of the SPHL and the Danbury Hat Tricks of the FPHL. A workhorse, Kelley has logged 30 games between the two leagues and has played in 69 total pro games since coming out of college.

NCAA DI: He’s only been off the Bruins roster for about three months, but Ben Almquist (Bruins ’18-20) is getting his licks in with the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Almquist is a regular part of the Bulldogs bottom forward grouping having played in 12 games during the back-half of the season. While Almquist is still searching for his first collegiate point, for a young forward to see so many games down the stretch run,for a team that currently ranks fifth in the nation, is a huge vote of confidence for the Victoria, MN, native.

NCAA DI: Jan Stefka (Bruins ’15-17) is a sophomore at American International College and making his way through the season with the Yellow Jackets. Stefka has one goal in seven games played for the defending AHA Champions. Stefka and his Yellow Jacket teammates sit atop the AHA standings once again, and look to make an impact in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

NCAA DIII: The second season for Charles Spetz (Bruins ’15-17) is proving to be much more lucrative for the forward. After playing a season for New England College where he wasn’t able to register a points in 26 games, Spetz made the move to Wilkes University in 2019-20 and racked up 10 points in 26 games for the  Colonels.
