Bobcats Outlast Bruins in 6-3 loss

BISMARCK, ND – In a high-scoring affair in the North Dakota Capitol, the Bobcats would outlast the Bruins to take the first game of the weekend series, 6-3.

37 seconds into the 1st period, Bismarcks Quinn Rudrud would get the night started with his 1st goal of the night to give the Bobcats the early 1-0 lead. Three minutes later, Rudrud would collect his second of the night to make it 2-0 Bobcats 3:31 into the contest. Halfway through the period, Tyler Ryder would get his first goal as a Bruin, 2nd of the season, to pull the Bruins back within one. Ben Troumbly would give the Bobcats back a 3-1 lead to close out the 1st period of action.

The lone goal of the 2nd period wouldn’t come until eight minutes into the period when Adam Pietila would tap home a back door pass from Owen Michaels to give Bismarck a 4-1 lead after two periods. Austin would make a comeback, however, as two goals scored within thirteen seconds of each other, one by Frank Tafelski and the other by Braidan Simmons-Fischer, to make it a 4-3 deficit with 5 minutes left to play in the game. Bismarck would answer back with two of their own, fifty seconds apart, to give the Bobcats back a 3 goal lead and would hold off the Bruins to a 6-3 final.

The Bruins and Bobcats wrap up their regular-season meetings tomorrow night with a 7:15 puck drop.
