The Black and Yellow finished a two game series against the Minot Minotauros this Saturday night at Riverside Arena. Austin took a 1-0 lead shorthanded, courtesy Chris Fischer. Minot answered back quickly with a goal from Steve Sherman. Austin regained the lead with a tally from CJ Smith on the PP, assisting was Jake Flynn and Josh Bretner. Minot was able to add two more goals before the frame ended and led 3-2 at the first intermission. The second Stanza featured a fight as Chris Fischer fought Denis Dalidovich. The score did not change in the second, at the end of two Austin outshot Minot 25-17. The third frame the physical play really picked up. Austin picked up a huge goal from Easton Viitala, assisting was Nate Mondry and Kody Reuter. With the score 3-3 at the end of regulation the game want to overtime for the second night in a row. In the overtime neither team was able to generate. In the shootout Austin got goals from the Big Jay Dickman and Brandon Wahlin as the Bruins win 4-3.
