Austin Leads Series 2-1

The Austin Bruins traveled to Minot North Dakota to battle the Minotauros in game three and four of the first round of the Central Division playoffs. The opening stanza from Minot the Tauros were able to find the twine just a couple of minutes into the contest. Austin was able to counter on a power play goal from John Simonson that was unassisted. At the end of one period of play Austin was outshot 15-14, the score was 1-1. The middle period AJ Reid found the twine as Jay Dickman and Mike Bond supplied the helpers. Drew Anderson of the Bruins was tagged with a 5 minute kneeing call and was given a game ejection. Austin was able to get through the five minutes unscathed. With just 27 seconds remaining in the period Wes Iverson made the score 2-2. At the second intermission Austin outshot Minot 27-23. The third frame both clubs poured on the pressure but goaltending continued to be solid. At the end of regulation the score remained 2-2. In the overtime it was Cody Dixon that had the decider.
