Austin Completes Sweep

The Austin Bruins wrapped up a two game set in Aberdeen South Dakota against the Wings. Austin took a 1-0 lead early with a goal from CJ Smith as he was fed by Chris Fischer. The B’s made it 2-0 as Grant Eichstadt scored his first goal as a member of the Bruins, AJ Reid was credited with the assist. The Bruins than flexed their muscles on the PP with a tally from AJ Reid, the assist went to John Simonson. Aberdeen was able to score one late in the second. At the end of two periods Austin led 3-1.The second period Aberdeen cut the lead in half with a goal from Steve Johnson. Austin called a timeout after the goal to regain composure. After the timeout the Bruins made it 4-2 as Chris Fischer found the twine, assisting was CJ Smith. Aberdeen was credited with a penalty shot after a scrum in of Jason Pawloski. Colton Kramer was the shooter as he inched the Wings closer. With the score 4-3, Drew Anderson went to the sin bin for 5:00 for high sticking. Austin was able to kill the penalty with an aggressive penalty kill. At the end of two periods of play the Bruins led 4-3. The third period Mike Bond dropped the mitts with Nate Kohlenhoefer and took him out. Than it was Nolan Kirley who fought Kyle Kruenegal, the wings fans had plenty to keep them entertained.
