Three Bruins get USHL chance this weekend

Dec 10, 2015

AUSTIN, MN – Although the Bruins aren't in action this weekend, three of their players will be suiting up in USHL games across the midwest. Defenseman Paul O'Connor, and forwards A.J. Drobot and Justin Misiak will get to add some Tier I experience to their resumes.

O'Connor ('96), will play for the Green Bay Gamblers, who host the Madison Capitols on Friday before traveling to Chicago to take on the Chicago Steel Saturday night. O'Connor has 2 goals and 14 assists on the season and is one of only two Bruins to play in all 28 games this season. His 14 points leads all Austin defensemen. O'Connor played 50 games in the USHL with the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders from 2012-14.

Drobot ('98), will join the Chicago Steel, who travel to Cedar Rapids on Friday before hosting O'Connor and the Gamblers on Saturday. Drobot, who has a commitment to the University of Maine's DI program, played one game with the Sioux Falls Stampede last season. He has 5 goals and 5 assists in 25 games with the Bruins this season.

Misiak ('96), goes to the same Stampede club, who play host to the Muskegon Lumberjacks for a pair this weekend. Muskegon was the team that chose Misiak in the 18th round of the 2015 Phrase II USHL Draft. He's fourth in scoring on the Bruins with 9 goals and 11 assists in 26 games. It will be Misiak's USHL debut.

Although the USHL clubs can choose to keep O'Connor, Drobot, and Misiak, it is likely all three players will return to the Bruins for their next game against the Minnesota Wilderness on Friday, December 18th.
